Our most regular special events are our Sunday Suppers. These bi-monthly dinners are held at the bar and are a way for the Public House to introduce our patrons to new chefs and different food styles; as well as help foster a community around the food of Knoxville and beyond.

August 20th Chef Terri Roberts, of Bridgewater Place, and Knoxville's newest distillery, PostModern Spirits, pair up for a refreshing and creative summer supper. We are excited to pair cocktails featuring spirits from PostModern Spirits with Chef Terri Roberts’ expertly crafted menu. Join us to close out the Summer Supper series! First Course |  Heirloom Tomato, Chevre and Basil Tomato Pie

Second Course | Baby Kale, Feta and Fennel Spanakopita with Juniper Butter

Third Course | 104 degree Salmon with a Cucumber water and Cucumber Grapefruit Salad

Fourth Course | 72 hour Short Ribs over a Corn Puree with Corn and Okra Maque Choux and an Elderberry gastrique

Fifth Course | Braised peaches with Vanilla Ice Cream, Almond Sable and Ginger anglaise

Chef Terri Roberts, a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, found her calling to cuisine while an English literature and French language student at Middle Tennessee State University. She enrolled in the Culinary Arts program at Kendall College in Chicago, Illinois and embraced her new career with passion. Before completing her studies, she embarked on a six-month internship at Wish restaurant in South Beach Miami, Florida. Upon graduating she began her career under Chef Bruce Sherman at the acclaimed North Pond Restaurant in Chicago, Illinois.

She then earned a position studying under Chef de Cuisine Koren Grieveson and Executive Chef Paul Kahan at the award winning Avec Restaurant. It was at Avec that she developed her true passion for rustic cuisine focusing on pure simple flavors.

In 2008, the song of mountain rivers and family laughter called her closer to home. She began a new adventure as a Sous Chef to Jacob Sessoms at Table Restaurant in Asheville, North Carolina. It was at Table where her love of farm to table truly began to bud.

In 2009, she took the helm and opened up The Southern in Asheville as the Executive Chef.  The Southern was driven by her belief that the most flavorful cuisine is made simply with the best, highest quality produce.

In the summer of 2012, she felt a pull to the low country. She secured a position as a sous chef for French Master Chef Nico Romo of Fish Restaurant and Patrick Property Hospitality Group.  Under Chef Nico’s guidance she truly began to hone her skills in fine dining catering.  

Upon returning to her beloved home of Knoxville, Tennessee she has embarked on the thrilling partnership with Bridgewater Place Premier Catering and Events. The team of dedicated creative event professionals at Bridgewater Place has built a home for her to pursue her love of the culinary arts in her hometown.
